Sarah Klerk

Sarah Klerk, consultant, focuses on conducting workforce and educational research and applying lessons learned to help communities develop programs and policies that enable individuals to access career pathway educational and training programs. Sarah has expertise in managing collaborative initiatives. She worked at the Chicago Jobs Council (CJC) where she facilitated the Opportunity Chicago initiative. Her responsibilities included engaging in the planning and implementation of the initiative’s strategies, working with and convening initiative stakeholders, serving as a liaison to providers, managing the evaluation of the initiative, and otherwise promoting the initiative to reach a point of sustainability. Before her work at CJC, Sarah was a Special Projects Coordinator at the W.E. Upjohn Institute for Employment Research. In that position, she conducted research on workforce, economic, and educational development and worked with community stakeholders to engage in a major community alignment initiative that seeks to bolster the economy through educational and workforce development. Sarah is the author of Pass It On: Connecting the Dots Between Education, Interests and Careers. She earned her master’s degree of public policy from the University of Chicago.
