Cynthia D. Liston, consultant, has been a public policy professional for twenty years. Cynthia focuses on collaborative approaches to applied research, policy development, and capacity building. She has expertise in key education and workforce policy areas such as: demand-driven workforce development; contextual and project-based learning; entrepreneurship education; global education and competencies; new approaches to developmental education; career pathways; and strategies for expanding educational access for disadvantaged populations and places.
Cynthia is currently Principal of CD Liston Consulting. From 1995 to 2007, Cynthia worked at Regional Technology Strategies, Inc., a national economic and workforce development policy organization in Chapel Hill, NC. She has played major research and management roles in projects supported by the Ford Foundation, the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, the German Marshall Fund of the United States, the Rapides Foundation, the Kauffman Foundation, the Golden LEAF Foundation, National Science Foundation, the Appalachian Regional Commission, the National Governors Association, and numerous state agencies.
Cynthia holds a Masters of Public Policy from Georgetown University's Public Policy Institute and a B.A. in Political Science and French from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
